NBA-Team: Best NBA on NBC Moments Part 2

More B-B-B-B-B-Basketball!!! While that Roundball Rock theme song hits the ears of NBA fans this year like fine wine, what made the original NBA on NBC such a memorable time other than Michael Jordan and the John Tesh theme? Adam Murray and Andrew Riche, THE NBA-Team, have quite a few reasons to discuss in this countdown episode reminiscing about some great Association moments on the Peacock between 1990 and 2002. In part two, we finish off the top 10! Is there a possibility anyone BUT Michael Jordan's last shot in Utah was number one? How did a moment in the All Star Game make the list? REGGIE, REGGIE, and MORE REGGIE? Unfortunately for Knicks, yes. We discuss all this and much more in Part 2! So suit up your retro unis and take it out with THE NBA-Team!

NBA-Team: '25-'26 Conference Semi-Finals Preview
Tuesday May 19, 2026
Tuesday May 19, 2026
After a first round that pretty much had it all (good, bad and whatever the Orlando Magic were doing), the NBA Playoffs moves on to round two. We see a lot of usual suspects and big market teams moving on, but will the road run out of pavement quickly or will we see more wackiness like we did in the previous round? Adam Murray and Andrew Riche, THE NBA-Team, are back in the lineup to discuss all four conference semi-final matchups. The Thunder and Spurs mowed down their competition in round one, but will we see a surprising challenge or two from the injury-depleted Lakers and Timberwolves, respectively? Two teams in the Eastern Conference did the rare comeback from being down 3 games to 1, but one was a surprise. Can the Philadelphia 76ers (led by Joel Embiid & Tyrese Maxey) pull off another upset against an offensively dominant New York Knicks squad? After coming back from the dead against Orlando, can the Detroit Pistons survive a much more potent scoring threat in the Cleveland Cavaliers? All this and more! So suit up and take it out in episode 390 with the NBA-Team!

PTBN's NBA-Team: The Wiz Kids Are All Right
Thursday May 14, 2026
Thursday May 14, 2026
In a special episode, THE NBA-Team (Adam Murray and Andrew Riche) live-watch the Super Bowl of tanking NBA Teams: The 2026 NBA Draft Lottery in all of its potentially conspicuous glory! While the tin-foil hat wearers like Andrew had less to discuss this year than the previous two years (when teams outside of the top ten chances won the top pick), there are quite a few fireworks. With the Washington Wizards winning their first number one overall pick since John Wall in 2010, is it time to do the Dougie again and just pick Darryn Peterson now or will they play a game of chicken with A.J. Dybantsa and the team that has coveted A.J. reportedly for years: The second overall Utah Jazz? Which teams karma-wise got punished and rewarded this year by the lottery gods (a.k.a. Adam Silver and Marc Tatum)? And will the new '3-2-1' format starting next year (which we explain) be as effective at preventing tanking as they intend for it to do so? All this and some NBA Playoff talk! So suit up and take it out with the NBA-Team!

NBA-Team: 2026 NBA Playoffs First Round Preview
Saturday Apr 25, 2026
Saturday Apr 25, 2026
The Play-Outs and Play-In's are finally over, and now the real Playoffs begin... or does it? The first round may not be the most riveting for all eight series in the East and West, but Adam Murray and Andrew Riche, THE NBA-Team, are back to discuss all eight matchups and give their predictions. Will James Harden somehow take the playoff pressure OFF of the underachieving Cleveland Cavaliers? In a series where Luka, LeBron, Durant, and Sengun played more minutes than anyone else in the NBA, is it possible that the bench will determine the winner of the Lakers-Rockets series? Are the San Antonio Spurs REALLY ready for prime time in Victor Wembenyama's playoff debut against the Blazers? All this and much more! So suit up and take it out, playoff style, in episode 389 with THE NBA-Team!

PTBN's NBA-Team: Well Past Done
Tuesday Apr 14, 2026
Tuesday Apr 14, 2026
The postseason is upon us in the National Basketball Association, but it is fair to say that the regular season has been all but done for more than half the league, and other half are still ramping up for what may amount to a not-so-thrilling first round in the NBA Playoffs. But despite the lack of excitement in the last month of the season, Adam Murray and Andrew Riche, Place To Be Nation's NBA-Team, are back to find the diamonds in what was a pretty rough, tank-tastic stretch. Why do we both think this will be one of the most active coaching carousels in NBA history, with some possible surprise firings? Did the Chicago Bulls dig their own grave years before their front office was finally let go this past week? How did we do on our preseason over-under predictions? All that, and much more! So suit up and take it out in episode 388 with the NBA-Team!

PTBN's NBA-Team: Hospice Season
Sunday Apr 05, 2026
Sunday Apr 05, 2026
The NBA seems to be holding out for some heroes going into their ever-important postseason, but it feels more and more like teams and players are holding out in the regular season out of fear of getting injured before the playoffs like Luka Doncic did this past Thursday. But what downside are we more willing to have if available superstars in the playoffs means players missing the 65-game threshold and not getting All-NBA honors? Adam Murray and Andrew Riche, Place To Be Nation's NBA-Team, are back together to talk about the final steps of the plodding death march of this regular season and what players may or may not actually be ready to go by mid-April. Is Jamahl Mosley on borrowed time in Orlando or can he salvage his damaged relationship with his struggling star player Paolo Banchero? Are the Bucks and Giannis Antetokoumpo also on the verge of a divorce, or is a top draft pick and new hefty extension on the horizon? Why is the East play-in so much more fascinating than the West play-in? (Might have something to do with the red-hot Hawks and Hornets) So suit up and take it out in episode 387 with the NBA-Team!

PTBN's NBA-Team: Low Tide
Tuesday Mar 31, 2026
Tuesday Mar 31, 2026
When there are more stories about the NBA Players Association and Adam Silver and the League itself rather than the Players and the Performances...and the alleged push towards the playoffs that was supposed to happen, that's not a good sign of where things are right now. First Adam talks about Anti-Tanking, Anti-Load Management and the "65 game" rule that has disqualified a true contender, then Andrew and Adam talk about some Western Conference Playoffs. Enjoy!

PTBN's NBA-Team: More or Less
Tuesday Mar 24, 2026
Tuesday Mar 24, 2026
In this wildly volatile league of teams not trying to win or not trying to win a championship despite making the postseason, are we REALLY sure we want two more expansion teams in the league as the number of franchises that matter seems to actually be shrinking instead of expanding? Adam Murray and Andrew Riche, Place To Be Nation's NBA-Team, are here to discuss all things expansion, along with some history and geography lessons to boot! They also talk about Cade Cunningham's potentially devastating collapsed lung injury for the top-seeded Detroit Pistons, some NCAA Tournament talk, and more! So suit up and take it out in episode 385 with the NBA-Team!

PTBN's NBA-Team: The One About Bam Adebayo's 83-Point Game
Tuesday Mar 17, 2026
Tuesday Mar 17, 2026
Just when you are ready to lose hope and completely give up on the tank-tastic dregs of the last month of NBA regular season basketball... THE MIAMI HEAT's BAM ADEBAYO SCORES 83 POINTS IN A SINGLE GAME AGAINST THE WIZARDS!!! It was truly something to be seen in order to be believed, but why did it get so much hate and push back instead of being lauded as an all-time-great performance? Adam Murray and Andrew Riche, Place To Be Nation's NBA-Team, are here to break down this historic game, what it means in these times of high scoring and lackadaisical defenses, and whether we might see... a 90-point game? The Celtics are back in the headlines with Jayson Tatum's return from Achilles surgery, but also for Jaylen Brown's gripes with the referees as the East and West playoff scenarios seem all but certain. Is the Luka-Reaves Lake Show back on in L.A.? Does Shai Gilgeous-Alexander breaking another Wilt record seal the deal for him to win another MVP? Are the Spurs officially back? Listen in, suit up, and take it out in episode 384 with the NBA-Team!

PTBN's NBA-Team Evaluation Nation
Tuesday Mar 10, 2026
Tuesday Mar 10, 2026
As we enter the final quarter of the season, almost 1/3 of the league is going to go into tank...er..."evaluation" mode where all-stars can get elective surgery, and two-way players can showcase their talents in hopes for a future expanded role. Andrew and Adam talk about some of these players they will keep an eye on. Also, still slightly caught up in Olympic Fever, Andrew poses the question of whether the NBA should retool their overtime rules to mirror that of Olympic Hockey. Enjoy!

PTBNs NBA-Team: There Is No Pantheon
Tuesday Mar 03, 2026
Tuesday Mar 03, 2026
Only Parity Its a year that ends in 6, so just like 1996 with the Bulls and 2016 with the Warriors, we are due for an all-time great NBA-Team, right? Maybe not, but we have Adam Murray and Andrew Riche, Place To Be Nations NBA-Team, here to talk about teams on the cusp of greatness between Oklahoma City, Detroit, and San Antonio, and what may hold them back come playoff time. If parity overtakes the season (along with blatant tanking), what teams might be surprise and win the West or East? Andrew brings up some regular season matchups that caught some playoff fever, then the two co-hosts deep dive the 7 proposed changes to the Draft Lottery system to battle tanking in the regular season. So suit up and take it in episode 381 with the NBA-Team!

PTBN's NBA-Team: The Horoscope Says Crises
Wednesday Feb 18, 2026
Wednesday Feb 18, 2026
Adam Murray and Andrew Riche, Place To Be Nation's NBA-Team, are back at it after a less-than-festive All Star Break where the state of the league address by Adam Silver left one of our hosts pessimistic, to say the least. The tanks are already rolling out before we reached the All-Star Game, but is it forcing the league's hand to consider drastic changes or sit idly by while the playoff standings stay in idle? Why is Andrew so intrigued in this particular season by the Most Improved Award race with such a deep pool? Adam also discusses the very real possibility of third or fourth options winning MVP and All-NBA honors by default due to DNP's by superstars. So suit up and take it out in episode 379 with the NBA-Team!

PTBN's NBA-Team: The Vultures Are Circling
Tuesday Feb 10, 2026
Tuesday Feb 10, 2026
As we pass the NBA trade deadline and see at least three certified Hall of Famers get moved, why did a lot of NBA fans feel like an eventful week of trades feel so unfulfilled and pessimistic about teams in tank mode and playoff teams ready to pick off the pieces, but unwilling to give too much away? Adam Murray and Andrew Riche, Place To Be Nation's NBA-Team, are back together after Adam held the fort earlier this week to give out grades for each team, talk about the reality of the second apron blues for playoffs teams, and why play-in purgatory seems like the one place teams do NOT want to be down the stretch. The Chicago Bulls finally made big roster changes, but why did all they pick up were guards? Why do Adam and Andrew disagree about what the Utah Jazz (by acquiring Jaren Jackson Jr.) are trying to do? Did the Atlanta Hawks get worse in the short term but have a bright future in the long term? If you're Steph Curry, is it time to ask out of Golden State? Andrew and Adam also talk about playoff teams standing pat, expiring contracts on the move, the dreaded 'player to be named later,' and more! So suit up and take it out in 378 with the NBA-Team!

PTBN's NBA-Team: That Sinking Feeling
Tuesday Feb 03, 2026
Tuesday Feb 03, 2026
Now that reality is sinking in for a lot of NBA franchises this season, now is the time, but time for what? Time to get out from that dreaded second tax apron? Time to beef up the roster for that vaunted, non-guaranteed Playoff run? Time to start from scratch and pillage the roster or find some new pillars? One way or another, the trade deadline is coming up in the NBA, and teams have the opportunity to make big changes or stand pat. Adam Murray and Andrew Riche, Place To Be Nation's NBA-Team, are back with days to go before the deadline to discuss all the possibilities, and some deals that already went down. Why are neither guys that gun-ho about the chances Giannis Antetokounmpo gets traded before the summertime? Will Ja Morant find a happier place now that his days in Memphis are numbered? Who actually has the room to make moves, and why should or shouldn't they? Will the Kings finally blow it up? All this and much more! So suit up and take it out in episode 377 with the NBA-Team!
