On this week's Go Home in a Box, Chris & Joel take a look at Mad Max and Escape from New York and discuss the influence these films had on the action/sci-fi subgenre known as the post-apocalyptic future. From the vast desert wastelands to the urban decay, filmmakers were especially fond of copying these two archetypes to varying levels of success. From films such as 1990: The Bronx Warriors to Dune Warriors, the guys hit on the more notable films that were influenced by greater post-apocalyptic visions. Plus, the week's new retro releases on dvd and blu-ray for July 11.

This month marks the much-anticipated (?) return of the Hard Travelers for Hire series as Nick and Greg take a look at the the movie that kicked off the MCU's Phase II: the controversial Iron Man 3! It's the most contentious installment yet, as Nick and Greg do battle over the pros and cons of the Shane Black film. Is the Mandarin a racial stereotype rooted in the past or a character ripe for reinvention? Does child actor Ty Simpkins annoy or impress? And is the movie's divisive swerve a brilliant twist or a lazy cheat?
