This Week on It Was a Thing on TV we present a trilogy of Christmas/New Year's Specials for you to enjoy.
First, we look at a Christmas tale about leprechauns? The Leprechauns' Christmas Gold aired in 1981 and really has nothing to do with the holidays minus a scant few mentions of Christmas. However, some big names lent their voices to this special.
Next, we watch an interpretation of a holiday classic, as show favorite Paul Lynde portrays the patriarch of a family in a star-studded 1977 adaptation of 'Twas the Night Before Christmas.
Finally, we bring 2021's recaps to a close with yet another Rankin-Bass holiday special, Rudolph's Shiny New Year. We also sing a bad rendition of a popular theme song, talk about both the 1976 and 1985 Detroit Pistons, and hypothesize that New Year's Eve failed to exist after 1976 about how we'd be celebrating the 46th year of 50 Grand Slam.

While you get a chance to see No Way Home (for maybe the fourth or fifth time) the gang at It Was a Thing on TV bring you to a time before Tobey, Andrew and Tom.
First, we start with an episode about the live-action version from 1977 to 1979 that aired on CBS which was good but like many shows we've covered, but was mishandled at the network level.
Then, we took a look at a live action version of Spider-Man from the late 1970s...from halfway around the world. Japan did their own take on the superhero, one that Stan Lee loved.

In the twenty-seventh episode of Making Mt. Rushmore, panelists Jon Keselica, Rocco Martone & Chico Alexander join moderator/panelist Steve Riddle to discuss which Christmas Movies deserve a place on their respective lists. After that, they discuss which “Christmas” Movies will be part of that grouping. Can you argue that Die Hard shouldn’t get a spot? Will the Rocky IV be included? Is Batman Returns in the conversation? What about Gremlins & Iron Man 3?

This Week on It Was a Thing on TV we talk Adam West, Skeletor and Christmas.
First, we talk about the 1986 NBC police comedy "The Last Precinct". It's another story about a show that premiered after the "Big Game" and died not long after. The show was in the same vein as Police Squad! and Brooklyn Nine-Nine and it came from Stephen J. Cannell. But was America ready for an hour-long police comedy? Obviously not.
Then, 'tis the season for your annual batch of oddball holiday fare! We start this season with a Christmas special from an animated icon of the 1980s, which has very little to do with Christmas. Get ready for He-Man's take on the holidays with much of the He-Man universe of characters, including sister She-Ra!
