PTBN's NBA-Team: Big Game Brunson Brings the O'Brien Back to the Big Apple

Start spreading the news! The fat lady has sung, Hell (or is it Hell’s Kitchen) has finally frozen over, and the New York Knicks, led by an unflappable starting five and point guard Jalen Brunson, defeated the young, talented San Antonio Spurs to win the franchise's first NBA Championship in 53 years! I know what you're thinking: How did we get to this point with a second-round point guard leading the Knicks back to the top of the NBA? Adam Murray and Andrew Riche, Place To Be Nation's NBA-Team, are here to deep dive a shockingly short but close NBA Finals with some twists, turns, and a ton of missed shots. Was this a good lesson for Victor Wembenyama in his first Finals appearance, and what was the actual lesson? Who will get a statue built in front of the Garden first between Brunson and O.G. Anunoby? NBA-Team: 2026 NBA Finals Preview

The countdown to extinction is almost over, as the NBA season has FINALLY (literally) come to its endgame with a kinda sorta predictable NBA Finals match up, but one that the league has been waited many years to advertise. It will be the Alien himself (generational superstar Victor Wembenyama, fresh off of dethroning the defending champion Thunder) as he leads the San Antonio Spurs against a talented, efficient machine in Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, OG Anunoby and the New York Knicks. Will we see a repeat of their last Finals showdown in 1999 and another monster Spur superstar will tower over all others, or will the Big Apple see their first NBA Championship since 1973? Does this Finals come down to the simple narrative of might over flight, or do the Knicks' surprisingly stout playoff defense have some tricks in store for Wemby and their physical guards? After a first round that pretty much had it all (good, bad and whatever the Orlando Magic were doing), the NBA Playoffs moves on to round two. We see a lot of usual suspects and big market teams moving on, but will the road run out of pavement quickly or will we see more wackiness like we did in the previous round? Adam Murray and Andrew Riche, THE NBA-Team, are back in the lineup to discuss all four conference semi-final matchups. The Thunder and Spurs mowed down their competition in round one, but will we see a surprising challenge or two from the injury-depleted Lakers and Timberwolves, respectively? Two teams in the Eastern Conference did the rare comeback from being down 3 games to 1, but one was a surprise. Can the Philadelphia 76ers (led by Joel Embiid & Tyrese Maxey) pull off another upset against an offensively dominant New York Knicks squad? After coming back from the dead against Orlando, can the Detroit Pistons survive a much more potent scoring threat in the Cleveland Cavaliers? All this and more!
