Since Andy has never seen the show, Tim educates and enlightens him on its greatness including: the incredible voice cast, the mythology and lore of the gargoyles themselves, the great character names, compare it other cartoons of the time period,  pontificate on how it came to be and wonder about there should and/or would be a revival of the series before moving on to live watch the two episodes that Tim selected for them. The ones picked are S1 E8 “Deadly Force” & S1 E9 “Enter Macbeth”.

This week on It Was a Thing on TV we look back at two African-American sitcoms.
First, we start with a short-lived classic from 1974. Clifton Davis was a free-spirited bachelor barber. He had friends and family who loved him, including Theresa Merritt, known for having an opinion on anything and everything. What else could he say except… “That’s My Mama!”
Then, it was CBS' new hotness in 1991, one of the best new shows on television.  Then tragedy happened and retooling had to occur.  There are some "what ifs" regarding The Royal Family, specifically around its star.
