It Was a Thing on TV: Episodes 403 & 404 - Dynaman/Jennifer Slept Here Revisited
Wednesday Sep 06, 2023
Wednesday Sep 06, 2023
This week on It Was a Thing on TV we celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Power Rangers in America and revisit one of our earliest shows.
First, thirty years ago, Haim Saban brought the Super Sentai to the US, and Power Rangers was born... but before THAT, a similar series was brought to the US purely for laughs and/or played-up stereotypes. We look back on the show that was Dynaman, who brought it to life, and what exactly a main squeeze is.
Then, early on in this podcast's life, we originally covered Jennifer Slept Here, but it was one of the few episodes Greg missed. He had things to say about this show. Thus, we are revisiting another episode from early on.

Pop Goes The Classics - Dinosaur (2000)
Thursday Aug 31, 2023

On the 35th edition of Pop Goes the Classics, Andy Atherton, Mirandia Berthold, and Steve Riddle travel back to prehistoric times as they discuss the 39th film in the Disney Animated Canon, Dinosaur. Join the trio as they discuss the film being lost in the shuffle of 2000, the amazing visuals of the film, the lack of story and character development, comparisons to other dinosaur films like Jurassic Park and the Land Before Time, having lemurs be in the film despite not actually existing in that time frame, the untapped potential of Eema and Baylene as comic relief, Kron: the biggest asshole in Disney history, having the Carnotaurus be the villain instead of the usual T-Rex, and if is the most forgotten film in Disney history. So join Andy, Mirandia, and Steve as they continue on their trek through all the films in the Disney canon.
