This week on It Was a Thing on TV we talk SNL, baseball, strange stuff in a small Indiana town and ….. Tony Schiavone?!?!
First, in 1986, NBC expected to air Saturday Night Live in its usual post-news time slot. The New York Mets had other plans, forcing SNL's hand to record that night's show in the dead of night, and causing the episode to air weeks later.
Then, Our final Halloween episode for this year is about a show which could be considered Twin Peaks for kids. Originally, it lasted a season but found life after its demise on several networks, including a follow-up series and a series of young adult books. Prepare yourself for the bizarre world of Eerie, Indiana.
Finally, wrestling fans tuned into the WCW Halloween Havoc 1993 Pay-Per-View expecting a night of exciting wrestling and what happened in the first four minutes was so weird that it's been on Greg's mind for the last 29 years.
Find out if a bunch of trick-or-treaters from Atlanta can be scared by Tony Schiavone.

On the twentieth episode of Blockbuster Rewatch, Andy Atherton welcomes Tim Capel to do a live watch of 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War continuing his MCU rewatch. Originally broadcasted live on Stream Lounge, the duo discusses how the movie wastes no time in raising the stakes; movie deaths that stick; Hulk’s performance issues; Tony’s nanotech; the Children of Thanos; James Gunn’s touch with the Guardians of the Galaxy; Star Lord vs. Thor; Captain America’s return; Drax’s comedic timing; the future of Thunderbolt Ross; The White Wolf; using hero names; Thanos’ plan (and it’s holes); Spider-Man’s pop culture references; the scenarios Dr. Strange saw that we didn’t win; trailer fake outs; the introduction of Storm Breaker; Star Lord’s huge blunder; Okoye’s great line; the showdowns in Wakanda and on Titan; the emotional toll the ending takes on the viewer and where the MCU will go from this point.

This week on It Was a Thing on TV we talk TGIF and werewolves.
First, ABC went against the grain with some of their TGIF offerings. First, Dinosaurs aired during TGIF. Second, it was followed by Camp Wilder, an untraditional family sitcom loaded with future star power.
Then, We start Halloween off looking at an obscurity from the early 90s which apparently has a small cult following. Originally, this was called She-Wolf of London but due to budget cuts and production moving from London to Los Angeles, the show underwent a format change and went by Love and Curses.

The season is currently underway, so Adam decides now is a good time to take a week off and go to Canada...so what better subject to talk about then our fine neighbors to the north? kids from up there used to be tiny small school prospects (read: Steve Nash) now are becoming 5* prospects, staying in the country (sorry Oak Hill Academy), and becoming early lottery picks. So see what the fuss is all aboot, eh?

In the thirty-sixth episode of Making Mt. Rushmore, panelists Eric Eells, Keith Langston & Mirandia Berthold join moderator Steve Riddle to discuss which Halloween TV Specials deserve a place on their respective lists. Is “It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” a no-brainer? What about the Wandavision episode “All Halloween Spooktacular”? Does the Buffy The Vampire Slayer episode “Halloween” grab a spot? Does the Parks & Recreation episode “Halloween Surprise” or the Freaks And Geeks episode “Tricks And Treats” deserve a place? After that, they discuss which Treehouse of Horror episodes of The Simpons will be part of that grouping. Can you argue that #III from 1992 shouldn’t get a spot? Will #VI from 1995 be included? Is Treehouse of Horror #1 from 1990 in the conversation? What about #IV from 1993 & #V from 1994?
